I'm posting this for a couple of friends of mine who might find the article and article comments informative.
I'm all for taking time off from dating to "figure" things out. After an abusive relationship in college, I took time off from dating. I had actually intended to not date during the entire two years that I was in grad school, but after reuniting with M, I reevaluated my situation and needs (and was also maybe pushed a little by M) and decided to make our relationship "official". I have no regrets. In fact, had I not decided to date M, I would have regretted it. M makes me a better person.
