Unsupervised

Today my teaching partner and I are on our own; our master teacher is out for the next two days. It will be a true test of our classroom management skills! My teaching partner decided last night to take advantage of the fact that our master teacher will be out and scheduled a doctor's appointment for Friday morning. She plans to leave me in charge by myself for all but the last hour. Not cool.

Where the wild things are...

I found this old photo and it made me smile. I took it back in early April when M and I went to Santa Barbara for his birthday. I'm not sure what it was doing on the ground in the middle of the night, but I had to stop and snap a photo of it while we were on the way to a club.

Week 9

I've clearly been M.I.A. the last several days. As the quarter wraps up, I have many assignments and obligations that are making it hard to blog daily. I have less than 3 weeks left! I haven't even had a chance to take any new photos. It's a little depressing. Week 9 is turning out to be a rough one and it's only Tuesday!

We also lost the championship game last night. It was a sad end to our indoor soccer adventures. My foot is still bothering me and my legs are covered in bruises from the knees down.

I also found out yesterday that our master teacher will be out for two days later this week and we will not be getting paid as substitutes. That means we paid the $100+ dollars to get our sub permits (like they asked us to!) for nothing.

I hope this week goes by quickly!

 

9-5

We played the same indoor team last night that we lost to last week. It was probably our best game yet. We had no subs for the girls and only two for the boys. While they defeated us 7-5 last Monday, we came back last night for our first playoff game and beat them 9-5. It felt so good.

The only downside is that I seriously hurt my foot. I'm really hoping that it's just a bad bruise and that it's not broken.

Field Trip!

This past weekend was not very restful and it went by way too fast! I am also feeling under the weather today. I'm going on a field trip with my third graders to a conservancy to see animals and plants that have adapted to their environment. It should be fun!

Week 8, I hope you pass by quickly!

7 weeks down!

I got up early this morning to go for a 4 mile jog with a friend. The weather is perfect; it's overcast, but not too cold. I'm showered and out to meet friends for breakfast. I have CPR training this afternoon and then I'm off to LA to see Lex and Timmy. Here's to the start of a great weekend!

 

My final quarter just got longer!

This is the second time I am typing this same post since my dinosaur computer decided to cut out the internet and not save my writing. This is my last attempt, so hopefully it works!!

One of my third graders drew this still life drawing and aptly titled it "still Life Coffee". I just love it!

Speaking of coffee, I am going to need more of it! My last quarter just got 1 week longer! I just found out that I am required to teach full times during finals week and am therefore off in my countdown. That makes my quarter 11 weeks long, not 10.

This is still my sixth week into the quarter, but I will have another five weeks of classes and teaching left (not four as I originally thought).

At least it's hump-day!

My Birthday Chair

Here I am celebrating in my new pink birthday chair! I told Spunky that she'll be grounded for a year if she even tries to claw it!

Goodbye 27, Hello 28!

It's officially time to make a new list! I definitely didn't finish everything on my previous list. I will update it and make a post about my progress on this past year later on this week. I will also be working on creating a 29 before 29 list!

27 was a good year, but may 28 be even better!
