First Steps.

I'm excited to say that this ADORABLE little girl (M's god-daughter) took her first steps with me.

To-Do's

I'd really like to stop time and go back to this moment where I'm lying in the warm sun with no worries or cares. Only this time, I'd like to also have my laptop and wifi so that I can catch up on all my blogs.

I'm technically on "break" from school, but with all of life's demands, I have still yet to sit down and read some of my favorite blogs. I am hoping that I will have some time later today to sit at Starbucks with one last 2010 egg nog chai and my laptop to finally get to them.

A few other things at the top of my to-do list:

• updating my list
• 2010 journal reflection (I like to read, reflect and write about the past year's journal entries.)
• exchange J.Crew sweater for a different color
• hang out with my best friends (we're usually hundreds of miles apart)
• update 2011 calendar with all important dates
• clean up bedroom (this includes a trip to the dumpster and goodwill to donate items)
• upload Christmas photos

The "9 lives" only exist when life's needs are met.

I'm really missing my Chunkers. I've been away from her since Wednesday. Which reminds me of a story I must tell you. As we were packing for our trip to M's parents (and then to mine), Spunky decided to explore M's closet (which she's never allowed in). I was already packed and was finishing up wrapping some presents. Before leaving, I made sure Spunky had a lot of food and water and cleaned out her litter box. As soon as Spunky notices someone packing up to leave, she gets angry and usually goes into another room to be alone. I didn't even notice her disappear, to be honest. I always feel bad leaving her unattended for a few days, so I wanted to give her some treats and pets before we left. I shook the treat bag (which almost always makes her come running in) but she was no where to be found. I looked under the bed, in all of her usual corners, hangouts and hiding spaces. Finally, I hear some rustling around from M's closet. Sure enough, Spunky had been locked inside. M had no idea she was ever inside the closet. She, of course, had no idea what she had done. She hadn't cried to be let out (she was probably still exploring). I doubt she would have been able to survive four days in that closet. She's chunky enough that food is not an issue, but the lack of water would be a definite threat to her life. I don't even like thinking about it; it makes me really sad.

I'm just glad she's safe and spends her nights cuddling with M.* I'm looking forward to being back with her on January 1 or 2.



*M informed me that Spunky threw up (hairballs) six times while we were gone! Poor M had to clean them up for me since I'm not there. I'm sending lots of love to both M and Spunky. XOXOX

Last Monday of 2010

I'm in Fresno now spending some time with my family. I finally feel relaxed. I have yet to even start reading my daily blog reads (I'm hoping to start tonight after I help out my siblings.)

It feels good to winding down 2010. I need to revisit my list and see my progress.

Total Randomness.

We met some pretty awesome (and very trusting) police officers who let us play with their motorcycles! I'm not sure exactly how this ended up happening, but it did.

Lex got the lights to go off on hers. Sadly, I didn't think to until after I had already gotten off.

After we had a little fun, we convinced M to hop on also!

 

... And those smiles stayed on our faces the entire night!
