Study Time.

I have an exam on Friday afternoon that I need to study for, so normal posts will resume on Monday, November 1.

Shakira, Shakira!*

Saturday morning a friend called me with two extra tickets to a Shakira concert at the Staples Center. Of course M and I agreed.

 

I love that she played a lot of her old songs.

 

And this next one was taken during my favorite song. It was awesome live.

 

All in all, the concert was amazing. Shakira really knows how to move her body and put on a good show.

 

I am definitely having some of Shakira's old songs put on my half-marathon playlist!

Roses And Chocolates

I got the most beautiful flowers and delicious See's chocolates from M on Saturday*. I have honestly never seen roses this large. They are literally as large as my fist!

 

*Because I was sick and we were apart the weekend of our engagement anniversary, M decided to surprise me with flowers and my favorite See's chocolates on our boyfriend/girlfriend anniversary. Yes, we know the exact day and time we had become boyfriend and girlfriend. Four years ago, M literally asked me whether or not I was going to be his girlfriend. After dating for a month and making the long drive back and forth from LA to Irvine to see me several times a week, M wanted to make sure that all his effort wasn't in vain. Of course it wasn't! I was, and still am, head over heels for that man.

Last Week Of October

I honestly can't get over the fact that we are already in the last week of October! Time is just flying by.

I got this cute picture of Spunky with M over the weekend. She really loves him.

On my to-do list this week:

• Study for exam on Friday
• Type up Student Reading Assessment Parts 1 & 2
• Fill out forms for a new tutoring job
• Go listen to Rick Morris' talk
• Run 13.2 miles (a Half-Marathon practice run)
• Go to the Pumpkin Patch

 

It is going to be a long day.

My schedule for today:

• Education Course 9-12p

• Class Meeting 12-1p

• Education Course 1-4p

• Tutoring 4-7p

In case it wasn't obvious, I litterally do not have any breaks! I will be running from one place to the other. That means lunch on the go, a late dinner, an entire day of feeling rushed and no wiggle room for other things that might come up.

Thank goodness I will have the weekend to recover!

 

A Late Night Run

Lex and I went for a 7 mile run and 1 mile walk tonight. Our time for the whole 8 miles was 1 hr 45 min. I'm feeling on track for my Nov. 14th half-marathon, thanks to Lex. She's been my running buddy recently. Somehow, runs seem easier when I run with someone rather than listen to music.

Candy Pumpkins Are My Favorite

Candy pumpkins are my favorite, with regular candy corn coming in a close second. (Don't even try and tell me they are the same, because they DEFINITELY ARE NOT!)

In case you were wondering, the brown, harvest candy corn doesn't even make the list.

 

 

Rainy Day Schedule

It was my first Rainy Day Schedule with first grades. They have so much energy; it is hard for them to stay seated for so long and even harder to teach to them when they have so much pent-up energy! Sadly, it is supposed to rain for the next couple of days.

An Unexpected Discovery

I am feeling overwhelmed right now. I just found out that I have an additional assignment due tomorrow that I didn't know was due. While I am glad that I realized this in time to complete the assignment, I had initially planned to spend this time going over my notes and studyin for a quiz that I have tomorrow*. Instead, I will be working this assignment (which I estimate to take 1-2 hours). That means very little sleep tonight*.

My plan is to finish the math assignment and then go to sleep. I will wake up early and head over to Starbucks in the morning to review my notes for the exam that I have later today.

 

*And by tonight, I mean today -- since it is already past midnight.

Old Photos

I just came across this old photo booth strip from when M and I first started dating and it made me smile.

We both look so young even though it was only four years ago! I'm so sad they removed the photo booth from Balboa Island. (That is where these were taken.) M and I used to go there regularly for photos. It was switched out for a modern color sticker photo booth. Definitely not as cool.

Tomorrow M and I are going to a first birthday party for the daughter of one of his cousins. Other than that, we don't have any plans for the weekend. I do have a test to study for and a few assignments that I would like to complete. Hopefully I am able to spend some quality time with M and his family and be productive and get all my studying done.
