Last night Lex and I went for a Halloween run from our apartment to Balboa Island and back. We ran past some of the cutest Halloween costumes. On our run, people were making comments about how we were dressed like "joggers" for Halloween. We had some funny comebacks; my personal favorite, "We have to work off all that candy somehow!" The best part was that we actually managed to trick or treat for a little candy. We were feeling a little tired on mile 7 and helped ourselves to some chocolate.I had forgotten which street exactly we were supposed to turn around at, so we just kept on jogging.
During the last 3 miles or so, my dad called, so we switched from jogging to fast walking while we talked to him. After getting home, I looked up the name of the street we were supposed to turn around at. Turns out, we ended up doing a total of 14 miles. Our time for the total 14 miles, including the last part that we walked was 3 hours.
When I got home, I noticed my toe was all bloody. Surprisingly, it didn't hurt at all during the run. Apparently, one of the sides of my toenail was sharp and cut into the side of my other toe. [Please don't mind the toe with the black nail. It's a soccer injury from a couple of weeks ago; I'm hoping I don't loose that nail.] Aside for usual blister, (I seem to get small ones whenever I run longer distances.) this is the first injury I've had. I've very thankful that it's minor!

I'm very excited for race day; two weeks and counting!
