I drove down to Irvine on Friday to spend some time with my sisters and to see my little Chunky Spunky. The best part, her hair has finally grown in again. Now I can take her to the groomers to get a real haircut without being embarrassed.
I have a huge to-do list this week that hasn't gotten done. The only one I really care about is finding some time to paint. I've been itching to create something new and finish my old painting projects. I wont have any time to paint this weekend, since I will be visiting my parents, so I'm hoping to find time tonight.
I've been looking at photos of some of my older paintings. This set of three was awesome. They were painted and given to a friend. It's always so hard for me to give my paintings away; they're literally little pieces of me.
Sadly, the photo above (taken with a cell phone camera) is the only photo that I have of the finished paintings. [There are actually several of my paintings that I don't even have any photos of!] That is literally the FULL SIZE photo. Totally lame. You can't see any details. It almost looks like they're black with white spots on them! It's not black at all. Dark, but colorful. And lots of little stars.
I did manage to find a few "in progress" photos of the paintings:
These "in progress" shots don't do the paintings justice. Aside from the terrible glare on the brush strokes from the flash, it's missing a few more coats of paint and the smaller "stars".
I really wish that I had been more diligent about taking pictures of all my finished works of art. This set is just one of many that I do not have final photos of.
M and I celebrated my birthday together about a week ago. We like to have a celebration with out families and something that is just for the two of us. He took me to Venice Beach, just like one of the days of my birthday week last year. We even ate at the same delicious Italian restaurant.
Later today, I have a dental appointment over where I used to live, so I
am taking the opportunity to also get in a great yoga session (thanks
to M's recommendation).
Since I moved last year, I have not been able to find a great yoga instructor that I absolutely love. No one compares to Kate from Kate Yoga. She's literally AMAZING. You will never look at yoga the same after having a few sessions with her. She really knows her stuff and is, hands down, the best instructor I have EVER had. If you think that yoga is just about poses and stretches, then you
really need to make a few appointments with Kate. Even if you know a lot about yoga, you should meet with Kate; she'll change your life.
I'm beyond excited for an awesome yoga session. Bring it on.
