Leni, this is a great idea. I wanted to create a happy songs playlist on my iPod for so long now, but I never really got to it.
My happy song right now is Michael Bublé with "Haven't met you yet". I just recently posted a blog post about it on my blog.

Oh and here is the youtube link to it

"Can You Feel It?" by the Jacksons! The video has sound effects added to it, so if you're making an audio-only playlist, you'll want to use the original audio recording:

Here's the rad video (with sound effects):

i looove "i want you to" by weezer right now. perfect.

Mine would be "I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)" by the proclaimers. It was our wedding song but its so fun to turn up as loud as you can and sing and dance around too! I love it!

"Walk Don't Walk" from Prince's Diamonds and Pearls is my antidote to the doldrums.

i love anything by camera obscura. i think french navy is especially nostalgic.
also, the soundtrack for "where the wild things are" is fantastic!! very calming.

i hope that all is well! if i come across some songs that make me want to tap my toe- i will send them your way!

thanks- shaylah fawn.

the ultimate happy song for me is 'the christmas song' by nat king cole.

Coldplay - Don't Panic

That's absolutely at the top of my list. I think this is an excellent idea. And so much fun. I have a few others that popped out when I searched my library of music:

Frou Frou - Let Go
Muse - Butterflies and Hurricanes
Radiohead - Jigsaw Falling Into Place
Weezer - Buddy Holly (though most everything they do makes me happy)
Tom Petty - Runnin Down a Dream
Stereophonics - Dakota

Can't wait to see -- I mean, hear -- the final product!!

Let Go - Frou Frou is great, but I see someone's already mentioned it...

And just to be a little silly...
That's Not My Name, by the Ting Tings. lol. :)

I like Walking on Sunshine.

Bri (like the cheese)

Sey Hey - Michael Franti is my most recent 'instant happy' song.
Take On ME - Ah Ha is my all-time most favorite happy song.

i've been thinking of my own mix for awhile now, am glad you're doing the same. here are the ones i've written down as absolute faves.

forevermore - katie herzig
you and i - ingrid michaelson
say hey (i love you) - michael franti
and of course
of course,

ain't no mountain high enough

can't wait to see the outcome of this fabulous mix. c'mon get happy. xo.

I Want you to Want Me by Cheap Trick! :)

Slide by goo goo dolls!
i can't find a good youtube version of it though, they are all live or acoustic performances.

kelly mccaleb

touch of grey by the grateful dead

HOOCHIE, HOOCHIE, HOOCHIE!! I'm reading your blog!

Can we please add "Perfect Gentleman" by Wyclef Jean to your list? And perhaps that Speedy Motorcycle song by Yo La Tengo? That makes me laugh every time...

Kinda lame but the song ALWAYS cheers me up because its so random

"you cant roller skate in a buffalo Herd" - Roger Miller
